On various visits through May and June, Rowan and I have been creating the three parts to this large entrance way at Artrocks in Inverleigh. Artrocks is an art studio/sculpture garden/ art workshops for schools and individuals/bed and breakfast destination! Run by the gorgeous artist/tutor Ade Loe, this is a beautiful and creative space with many beautiful dry stone walls created by Ade's husband Bronte.
The entrance project has been on the drawing board for a couple of years, but finally the time was right.......
The entrance project has been on the drawing board for a couple of years, but finally the time was right.......
First came the design, which had to cover the 4.4m expanse, plus a sign for over the top. Black cockatoos were suggested by Ade, and away we went! I designed the gates with a smaller pedestrian gate to one side.........
We cut and finished the cockatoos before we arrived, but the rest was created on site in Ade's studio. Working on such a large scale certainly had its challenges, but we are all very happy with the results! The gates were hung by Bronte.....Rowan and I had our Italian residency experience and then we completed the sign for the top.....
The top design was before we started welding it all together.....then after a few modifications......The result!
Now we are just waiting for the final installation.....I can't wait to see all the parts come together, so happy with the result after talking about it for so long! Thanks Ade and Bronte for allowing us to create your entrance way xxxxxx
